Ancient Greeks have a lot of achievements, e.g. Pythagoras invented "his" triangle, which is commony used nowadays. Another person which is worth to be mentioned is Hypatia from Alexandria. She taught philosophy and astronomy mostly, and she (between others) invented astrolabes. In most cases we are not taught about her achievements etc, and it is a pity IMO :)
