Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist changes in its state of rest or motion. Different types of inertia are: 1. The inertia of Rest: The inability of a body to change by itself its state of rest is called inertia of rest. Example: A person sitting in a car falls backwards when the car starts.
Inertia of Motion: The Inability of a body to change by itself its state of uniform motion is known as Inertia of motion.
