Time period of simple pendulum is given as

[tex]T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g}[/tex]

here we know that

[tex]L = 2 m[/tex]

[tex]g = 9.81 m/s^2[/tex]

now plug in all data in above equation

[tex]T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{2}{9.81}}[/tex]

[tex]T = 2.84 s[/tex]

so the time period of simple pendulum above the earth surface is approximately 2.84 s
