Multiply both sides by 5/2

2/5(5/2)x=-24(5/2)

Cross out 2/5 and 5/2, divide by 5 and 2 . Then becomes x.

Cross out  -24 and 2, divide by 12.

-12*5=x

x=-60

Answer: x=-60
