Olaudah Equino was the person who wrote an account of his life detailing his experience as a child of being kidnapped in Africa and sold into slavery. During his lifetime, he was known by the name of Gustavus Vassa. He was actually born in the year 1745 and died on 31st of March in the year 1797. He was a prominent African living in London.
