Cultural views can greatly affect relationships whether the two (or more) cultures share similarities or not.
Different cultures can have debates over: religion even if they share significant commonalities (ex. Sunni and Shia Muslims), political views, acceptable forms of dress for men and women, language, historical origin(s), scientific beliefs, and/or socially acceptable actions.
