The spinning of a planet, moon, basketball, toy top or gyroscope, around a line inside itself, is called "rotation". The line inside that every point of it moves around is called the "axis of rotation" or simply the "axis".
If the object travels in a path around a location outside of itself, then THAT motion is called "revolution". The path it follows is called its "orbit".
