First thing you would do is plug in the (-3) to a

k(a) = 4(-3) + 2

You would multiply 4 × -3, giving you -12.

k(a) = 12 + 2

Then you would add 12 + 2, giving you 14.

k(a) = 14

k(a) would equal 14.
