Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer: 7/8 * (145) ^ (1/2)

Discussion:

The distance from (-4,5) to (-3, -7) is

the square root of     (-4 - (-3))^2 + (5 - (-7))^2  or

the square root of  (-4 +3)^2 + (5+7)^2 or

the square root of (-1)^2 + (12)^2 or the

the square root of 1 + 144 = 145

7/8 of this distance is  7/8 * (145) ^ (1/2)

where ^(1/2) indicates the square root of the quantity (145 in this case)
