2x+2y=2. -4x+4y=12 can someone explain this step by step

2x+ 2y= 2; -4x+4y= 12

X + y= 1 ; -x+ y= 3 ==> y= 3+ x

X+ (3+x) =1

2x = 1-3= -2 ==> x= -1

Y= 2
