Suppose, we are given

[tex]\frac{10.4}{8}[/tex]

step-1: Firstly, we will get rid of decimals from numerator by multiply numbers

Here , we have decimal before one digit

so, to get rid of that decimal

we will have to multiply both top and bottom by 10

[tex]=\frac{10.4*10}{8*10}[/tex]

[tex]=\frac{104}{80}[/tex]

step-2:

now, we can divide it using division

and then we  will get decimal accordingly

[tex]\frac{10.4}{8}=1.3[/tex]
