The completion of a furtaking course would allow a trapper to get a furtaking license, which is required in order to trap furbearers. Furbearers are mammals that have been traditionally hunted because of the commercial value of their pelts. Some examples of North American furbearers are foxes, wolves, beavers and bobcats.
