Your answer is positive 8, or just 8. When subtracting a number, the number will go down. However, when subtracting an already negative number will cause it to actually go up. Your taking away a NEGATIVE number. Also thing of it as, take away the 2 negatives to get positive, 7 + 1. Hope this helped :)
