4s-[tex]1 \frac{1}{2} = 8\frac{1}{2}[/tex]

i.e 4s-[tex]\frac{3}{2} = \frac{17}{2}[/tex]

i.e 4s= [tex]\frac{17}{2} + \frac{3}{2}[/tex]

i.e 4s=10

i.e s=[tex]\frac{10}{4} = \frac{5}{2} =2 \frac{1}{2}[/tex] (Answer)
