An invasive species is a species that is either placed in a a new community or finds way there itself. Either way, it is not supposed to be there and it disrupts the natural order of things in the ecosystem that it invades. It can often almost eradicate a species in the food web, which can prove daangerous as it can destroy the consisteny of the whole food web.
