Why do you think that the themes of utopia and dystopia are common in science fiction?

The themes of Utopia and Dystopia are common in science fiction because they both represent different worlds than our own. Dystopia being chaotic and destructive while Utopia being plentiful and harmonious. Both of these themes strike interest as they are totally different from our world and let people’s imagination take over as they read/ watch them
