1. 5 1/2 - 1 2/3 This is the way I find easiest:-
= 11/2 - 5/3 LCD = 6 so multiply 11/2 by 3/3 and 5/3 by 2/2:-
= 33/6 - 10/6
= 23/6
= 3 5/6 Answer
