(b^2 - 5b + 6) / (b-2)
= (b - 3)(b - 2)/(b-2)
= b - 3

(x^2 - x - 6) / (x-3)
= (x - 3)(x + 2)/(x - 3)
= x + 2

(x^2 + 3x - 4) / (x-1)
= (x + 4)(x - 1)/(x - 1)
= x + 4
