In this pattern 2,4,6,8... common difference is 2
If we have common difference d, then use formula an = a+(n-1)d
where a is the first term ( a= 2)
d is the common difference ( d= 2)
So formula is [tex] a_n = 2+ (n-1) *2 [/tex] = [tex] 2 + 2n -2 = 2n [/tex]
