The University is one of the greatest medieval inventions, but before it's creation in 11 c. the main centers of learning in Europe were Cathedral Schools and of course monastic schools, during High Middle Ages university became a secular educational corporation in it' structure and remains such to this day but inspiration for this invention came from clergyman intellectual best example is University of Bologna.
