To increase chances for a
successful organ transplant, the person receiving the organ should be given
special medications. The purpose of these medications is to reduce the strength
of the body’s immune system in order to create a balance between providing enough
immunosuppression to avoid rejection and to also minimize side effects after
the organ transplant.
