The Adams–Onís Treaty of 181 or Transcontinental Treaty or the Florida Purchase Treaty or the Florida Treaty, was a treaty between the United States and Spain that sold Florida to the U.S. They sign the treaty because they could not keep the US from conquering the Florida territory that is why they sold it to the US.
